Something for us all to continue to work on....

Save this post for a meal tomorrow 💜
Want a way to improve bloat after each meal? One of the most common things I see in my practice is bloat. It can be caused by different reasons, one of them being eating too quickly.
Our society doesn't place a huge emphasis on meal time and, in fact, it is often frowned upon when you take a break. This makes me sad. Have you ever found yourself saying, "I was so busy I didn't even have time for a lunch break?" Busyness has become a badge of honor in our society, but the reality is it's impacting our health.
One of my clients explained to me that she would never take the time to eat lunch at work because no one else in her office ever did, and she felt ashamed. Now that she has been working from home with COVID, one of the things we have prioritized is taking 20-30 minutes to eat a meal in order to help with digestion, bloat and constipation. It was initially really hard for her to take 20 minutes to eat, but now it is something she really looks forward to and sees the value in.
Before every meal she does "box breathing" to help calm her mind and promote healthy digestion. It's really simple:
👉Breathe in for 4 seconds⠀⠀
👉Hold for 4 seconds⠀⠀
👉Breathe out for 4 seconds⠀⠀
👉Hold for 4 seconds⠀⠀
REPEAT 4 times⠀⠀⠀⠀
This simple activity reduces stress, activates the vagus nerve which helps with digestion and motility, and will ultimately reduce bloat!⠀⠀⠀⠀
